The Crawling, Clapping, Throwing, Speaking Story
Then Saturday, the very next day, after waking up from a nap we set him down on the rug in the kitchen and he started crawling. A little while later he threw something and started clapping. By the end of the day he was saying "mama". I'm not making this up! And, it isn't as if we just didn't notice it before, it's tough stuff to miss.
A week later he is a crawling maniac with the potential to attack and destroy anything his brother is working on. He is clapping at everything, particularly anything NEW he is doing like lifting his arms up in the air for a SO BIG. And, he's very good at yelling MAMA particularly during an otherwise nice, relaxing dinner. Suddenly, he seems like a very big boy.
I almost forgot, we also got a second tooth this week! Phew.

A little bit about us...
J and C: We are a pretty happy pair of boys. We think our parents are pretty lucky! If they weren't so tired they might have an easier time recognizing this fact.

American Museum of Natural History
I'm so ready to motor it's funny
He is really good natured about it most of the time but this poor kid is so close to crawling! He can actually get around relatively well with this crazy up and down method, but mostly he just moves backwards...away from what he is aiming for!

Trip to the Science Center
After days lazing around the house and soaking up the holiday spirit we ventured out to the Science Center north of us. It was great...filled with lizards and fish and all kinds of fun things.
Callum very proudly identified this large, blinking letter C. "C is for Callum!" he shrieked.
Jude loved it, too, even though this picture doesn't really illustrate as much.
The trouble is, romping around learning science is really tiring. It means you have to put on your shades (a new, completely perplexing thing.) and nap in the car on the drive home.
Now, we are gearing up for the countdown to a new year!
