House Progress

Well, everyone that said "YES! It does get worse before it gets better." You were right. They finished framing the addition and now we can walk in a get a sense of how things will look. It's a great feeling. It all seems to be moving quickly now.

Hammering and tinkering is happening almost all of the time. They have managed to keep our kitchen appliances available to us (albeit in a cold, cold shell of an old kitchen) but it makes it alot easier to be able to wash dishes. I'm sure, however, it will make access to a dishwasher, when it is actually set up, even more amazing.
We did have to take a break from time with friends and the outdoors to get house-related stuff done. Cal was happy to oblige. He loved opening and closing cabinets at the home improvement store as well as turning faucet nozels on their floor samples. (Quick tip: never buy the floor sample.) But, his favorite by far was pushing the big blue "truck" as he called it. He was so proud and got plenty of attention for his efforts.
Of course, it's really tiring to work that hard, a man needs a break. While it looks like he's sleeping in this picture, he is actually focusing really hard because he had been so extensively coached to hold on and not move. It was pretty cute.
